The Truth and Nothing but the Truth about the Sabbath

In our little depth of knowledge, stemming from the traditions on what one nation of people have taught us, in Christianity, the sabbath is often observed on a Sunday, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. In Judaism, Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday. The Sabbath is a time for worship, reflection, and family gathering. Different denominations may have varying interpretations and practices related to the sabbath, but in many traditions emphasize refraining from work and engaging in spiritual activities on this day. So in general, the concept of the sabbath promotes rest and rejuvenation, both physically and spiritually. The observance of the sabbath can foster community and strengthen faith among believers; and in modern times, the significance of the sabbath continues to evolve, with some adapting its observance to contemporary life. I have a question; in Genesis 2:2-3 which reads:

2 And on the seventh day God יהוה ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God יהוה blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

If this was all to it, then why did he do Genesis 2:5,7 which reads:

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God יהוה had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

7 And the Lord God יהוה formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

If you have really read these four verses, something would tell you that God Yahweh was not done creating on the sixth day, because he made one special man on the seventh day!

This was a work, but it was a good and spiritual work because this Day was blessed and sanctified. Before I continue I want to give you the definition of the word “Read”. From the Merriam Webster online dictionary, Read is 1. to understand more than is directly stated 2. to pursue a course of study 3. to make a study of 4. to study the movements of with mental formulation of the communication expressed 5. to receive or take in the sense of (letters, symbols, etc.) especially by sight or touch. Same source Alphabet- 1. a system of signs or signals that serve as equivalents for letters. Letter-a symbol usually written or printed representing a speech sound and constituting a unit of an alphabet and Code-1. a system of symbols (such as letters or numbers) used to represent assigned and often secret meanings. 2. coded language : a word or phrase chosen in place of another word or phrase in order to communicate an attitude or meaning without stating it explicitly. These definitions tells me that letters formulated into words needs careful study and decoded for the hidden meaning. That being said, in verse five the word “before” is saying something couldn’t take place until something else happened.

Answer: God יהוה Yahweh’s creation could not evolve without a “special man” born in his image to “dress it and keep it”. A man that had the same love, respect, and fear in his heart. So he knew his work was not done, and he proceeded to form the “perfect” man in the image of himself to oversee and teach his created. So how do we know the earth (people) would be perfect? Because not only did he sanctify the day but he sanctified the man. His creation was holy, and because the source from which it was created was Holy! And to keep it holy, sacred teachings had to be instilled forever. But, when man fell from grace, and was given 6000 years to do better, all “hell” broke loose. Now we so easily recite the words “I’m not perfect” like that’s a satisfactory excuse, do you ever wonder Why? Maybe because there was never any holy teachings given from day one. If we would have allowed the fulfillment of 1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. The world would’ve been perfect, because it is that “special man” on the seventh day commanded to teach the world so desperately needed. Exodus 18:20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. That Holy man, not the Natural man...

1Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

We should have been stronger to not have been followers of man but demonstrators of God      יהוהYahweh.

Deuteronomy 20:18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the Lord יהוה Yahweh your God?

The whole gist of the word the Sabbath was about Sanctification! His creation would not have been complete without it being sanctified. Yahweh was telling us “everything” about his creation had to Operate, Upheld, Feared, and Respected through the “idea” of Holiness. In the Merriam Webster online dictionary says; Sanctify means 1.  to set apart to a sacred purpose or to religious use : consecrate 2. to free from sin : purify 3. to make productive of holiness or piety. This was the only way to observe the Sabbath. It wasn’t that you just stop physical work and gather at friends and families home and “break bread” that you were keeping the sabbath. Because if your mind, heart, and soul was full of sin, then how could you have been keeping it? You can’t approach God יהוה Yahweh and offer up anything, we should have learned that from Esau’s offering in the beginning when he was rejected. And, on another note, what kind of bread were you eating, literal bread or spiritual bread?

Let’s take a closer look at the word “work”. In the Merriam Webster online dictionary, 1.work is to exert oneself physically or mentally especially in sustained effort for a purpose or under compulsion or necessity. 2. to function or operate according to plan or design. 3. to produce a desired effect or result : succeed and 4.  to move slightly in relation to another part. Let’s talk about these definitions; the Sabbath was decreed (an order usually having the force of law) and (a foreordaining will) to be a teaching mechanism. It’s a curriculum that must be studied daily.

So this is why it is perpetual and a teaching tool of learning. יהוה Yahweh has always wanted us to observe the “seventh day” and to keep it Holy because it was to commemorate him and his hard work of divine bliss for his children. The work is a “Mental” letting you know it is always a work on yourself to stay perfect for him and each other. He commanded, Exodus 20:8   Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. How can you keep it holy if you don’t put in the work to keep your mind from sin when you live in it? It is a constant struggle in this world to sustain the purpose for which you were created. You weren’t created to do your own thing, this is יהוה Yahweh’s world and if you can’t perform in it as he see fit, off you go! Definition number two, we are to function and operate according to his plan or design, again the way he sees fit. Definition three, We are to produce after his likeness, procreate and raise his children according to the guide lines. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. And last, number four tells us we must move in relation to another.      יהוה Yahweh is big on family, finding our counterparts, one’s who think alike and love alike. See Matthew 22:37-40
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God יהוה with all thy heart, and with all thy  soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mental work is exertion and it calls for a six days application and seventh day reflection. Joshua 1:8 says This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. In closing, I wanted to mention Gods creation works in relation of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, the Trinity. And I believe that God communicates through numbers. Even though he created “man” on the seventh day he later made a woman for Adam. Genesis 2:22 And the rib, which the Lord God  יהוה had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. The symbolic meaning of the number two is that it emphasizes the divine partnership between man and woman, often seen as the foundation of relationships. In this context, the number 2:22 represents unity and divine purpose in human relationships. Some interpretations of 2:22 suggest that seeing this number could indicate that God is working in your relationships, preparing you for the right partnership, or guiding you to harmony and unity with others. In Sabbath, Yahweh is teaching us through the bonding of relationships, unity, harmony, and love is attainable with him in the mist.
When 2:22 appears, it might be a sign to pause and trust that God is orchestrating events in your life for a greater purpose. And it could be a message to continue walking in faith, knowing that God יהוה Yahweh is aligning things for your good, even if the path isn’t unclear. Luke 2:22 This verse tells the story of Jesus being presented in the temple, symbolizing dedication and fulfillment of God’s law. It can also reflect God’s timing and the completion of His promises. Keep Shabbat and keep it Holy, study to show thyself approved 2Timothy 2:15.
